Brookfield Saturday Nights cEDH

Weeknight Game Universe commander gameplay is coming to weekends!

Starting Saturday September 14, 2024!

Game Universe has teamed up with the people behind TopDeck to bring the competitive scene to Game Universe Brookfield.

Are you an experienced cEDH player looking to get some more games in? Or Maybe you are a new player looking to begin you conquest of the competitive side of Commander, either way, we are here for you.

What is cEDH?

cEDH, or Competitive Elder Dragon Highlander, is a popular and competitive version of the Magic: The Gathering Commander format. While cEDH shares the same rules and card pool as Commander, it has a different social contract and mindset.

  • What is the Goal of cEDH?

In cEDH, the goal is to win, and players will do anything they can to achieve this. This can lead to infinite combos, game-warping cards, and players searching their decks every turn.

  • What Strategies work with cEDH?

All strategies are accepted, and decks can have a major impact on the game as early as turn one. Players only make plays that help them win, and proxies are encouraged.

  • Interactions

On average, a cEDH deck will have 19–20 pieces of interaction, with up to 25% of the deck dedicated to interacting with opponents. This means that games often involve players passing priority around the table to analyze whether to interact with a spell.

  • Deck types

There are three main types of cEDH decks: proactive, adaptive, and disruptive. Proactive decks prioritize winning early, disruptive decks prioritize board control, and adaptive decks switch priorities based on matchups and draws.

And this is only the beginning!
